I went to a Japanese grocery store about a week ago with my boyfriend (he’s not Japanese, we just went for the fun of it and to seek out some noodles and sauce), and they had the most interesting food. There was everything from something that looked like mini shrimp’s skin and dried mushrooms to custard looking cakes packaged for the dry goods section.
This is just one example of the super crazy fun-time food items they sell. Everything has happy characters on it, or something that just makes you smile. I chose the mushrooms. They are little cookie/cracker sticks with chocolate for the mushroom top!
And when you open the box there is this strange hockey character. I don’t assume the hockey character plays hockey in the green mushroom fields. It’s probably some Japanese character for a contest or giveaway or who knows! But, it was still fun because somethings I had no idea what they were until I read the ingredient list. Not knowing what you are going to get can be pretty fun
