While sitting on the couch, watching a movie, and trying to cut my sweet potato with my fork, this happened:I catapulted sour cream (I was dipping my sweet potato in) all over myself, and then I got up and it went everywhere. I thought it was hilarious–like something you see in a sitcom.
Anyway, I should learn my lesson and eat at the table. Not only is eating at the table better for mindful eating, and good conversation, but it will help you stay clean 🙂
Moving on, I also bought this light sour cream dip at Walmart the other day. I know… Walmart. But, I was trying to use a $50 gift card. Anyway, it was only $2.50 for a whole pound of this low fat ranch dip–great for my veggies! It says, “all natural”, but I was skeptical to find out how much healthier this could possibly be.The nutrition facts are the almost the exact same for 2 Tbsp. of light sour cream. It is only 2.5 g fat! I would much rather make my own low fat dip, and it would be pretty easy to do. All you would need is some light sour cream, a little buttermilk, and plenty of herbs and spices.
The only thing I don’t like about this dip is 2 ingredients: yeast extract (a flavor enhancer like MSG) and titanium dioxide (for coloring, to keep it brighter and whiter). I don’t consider either of those additives to be too terrible, but I would still rather make my own dip. But, it is harder to make my own dip as thick and tasty. I will still try to make a tasty alternative, and let you know when I find a good recipe!
